Environmental Safety & Health Event

For the first time in May 2010, CPT planned a series of events with the various themes “Safety, Health, Environment, Fire Prevention and Emergency Response� and named them the “CPT Green Expo.� Year 2010 was the official-launch year of the “CPT Green Expo.� All production plants organized events that lasted from one to two weeks, through which CPT sought to promote employees’ awareness for and knowledge of environmental safety and health and the concept of energy conservation and carbon reduction. The objectives of the events were to effectively communicate new thoughts on preventing occupational hazards, enhance workplace safety and health, and encourage employees’ participation in occupational safety and environmental conservation activities to construct a sound occupational safety and health culture to continuously reduce occupational hazards, to promote health and to succeed in building a green corporation. CPT is actively involved in local community and school life. Our production plants in Taiwan launched the one-month long “Green Expo� in May 2010. The first event took place in Da An Primary School located right next to CPT’s Bade Plant in Taoyuan County. We perceive that tree planting is one of the worthy acts to preserve the environment and well matches the spirit and mission of the event. CPT’s president and the school principal planted tree seedlings and adopted garden patches together to inaugurate the event. The school children of Da An Primary School were also given the opportunity to plant small potted plants. Adults and children work hand in hand to build a greener living environment. As the initiator of the event, CPT fully demonstrated our high regard for creating a better environment and education for the next generation. In 2011, the “Green Expo� event of CPT’s Taiwanese plants, grounded on the event slogan of “Green and Joyful Celebration on CPT’s 40th Anniversary,� began on April 22, a date selected specifically because it was World Earth Day, symbolizing CPT’s Green Expo echoing an international day and connecting with international events. In 2011, the event not only invited colleagues from all plants, certain activities were also opened to nearby companies, such as: Toppan, Giantplus, Synchronic, as well as community residents, demonstrating the company’s commitment to fulfilling CSR.
