Display Taiwan 2009: Great Vision CPT

 

Display Taiwan 2009 Exhibition, from June 10th to 12th this year, is taking place in Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall. Besides focusing on new technology display, CPT intends to be closer to clients needs and helps the public to understand the development of consumer electronic products better by presenting various applications from small size to larger size sections.
There are four sections in this exhibition as follows: 3D & Touch technology, TV & Monitor Application, NoteBook & Netbook Application, Portable Application.

 

3D & Touch Technology

In recent years, CPT focuses on  glassless-free 3D technology development and received many international awards. Achievements include15.4 2D/3D switchable NB module, 37 multi-depth 3D display module that received the 17th Symbol of Excellence Awards, CIPO 2009 Gold Panel Awards Best Product Awards, and 26 multi-depth 3D display monitor that received the 12th Excellent Awards from PIDA.

 

In order to show the leading position on 3D technology, CPT presents 3D TV wall that combines 33 37 panels to increase viewing impacts with giant 111 screen. CPTs 3D glassless-free 3D panels sized from 7 to 37 and covers applications include digital photo frame, Netbook, Notebook, Monitor, TV, and commercial boards, etc. Multi-view glassless-free 3D technology presents future three-dimensional viewing impacts and leads to a new revolution.

 
TV & Monitor Application

31.5" Modular Type LGP for LED TV

There are two types of technologies implemented in this product as follows

: (1)Side edge backlight module嚗
LED backlight module could be divided into Direct-Light type and Side-Edge type by different locations of light supply. Direct-Light type lines up the LED underneath the backlight module and Side-Edge type lines up the LED on the side of special design Light Guide Plate that reduces the LED needs.

(2)Local Dimming嚗
In traditional design, Local Dimming technology can only be applied to Direct-Light type backlight module and it is very difficult to reduce the thickness at the same time. Thus, the advantages of Local Dimming technology (high dynamic contrast, power saving) and slim module cannot exist side by side. CPT introduces Modular Type Backlight technology into 31.5 displays. It combines Local Dimming technology and side-edge type backlight module together and solves the old problem. The module thickness now is only 9.3mm and able to achieve a good outlook design. The dynamic contrast rises to 160,000:1, and the average power consumption is only 50% of the traditional design. It completely matches the ideas of power saving products.

 
NoteBook  &  Netbook Application

17 High contrast ratio technology displays

In conventional VA type LCD, the liquid crystal alignment is controlled by located protrusions, but these structures lead to light leakage on dark state and reduce contrast ratio. High contrast ratio design adds polymers into liquid crystal molecules. These polymers are UV-cured by applying electric field, these polymers formed a layer on the surface of alignment layer. This polymer layer has the ability to control liquid crystal alignment. Protrusion free structure has the advantage to improve contrast ratio to 5000 and speed up gray to gray response time.

14 Ultra Low Power panel best reduces power consumption

14 Ultra Low Power panel uses dynamic backlight technology and lower-voltage driver liquid crystal to save 72% of overall energy consumption compare with traditional products. 5.5 KG of carbon dioxide emission could be reduced under the use of eight hours a day per year.
 

Portable Application

8.9 Color Management module with Color Shift Compensation and Six Axis Color Enhancement function

The color shift problem at different grayscales is an intrinsic characteristic in liquid crystal display, which is caused by gamma-dispersion, hardware limitation of liquid crystal and display structure. The Color Shift Compensation schema can automatically eliminates color shift and improves color depth. The Six Axis Color Enhancement function can enhance the color saturation to preferred levels without influencing other colors. For example, if red color is a lack in images, by conventional ways, the red saturation will be enhanced at the expense of reddish tints on perfect yellow. With Six Axis Color Enhancement function, the red saturation can be independently improved, and the perfect yellow remains.
